Next Gen Screenwriters Inaugural Program 

Starts on June 6, 2015


  • The first SWN Next Gen Screenwriters Program begins on June 6 on the site of the Non-Profit group Girls Today, Women Tomorrow (
  • Run by volunteer writers and producers, the classes will consist of six, 2 hour weekly classes followed by a weekend of film shooting!
  • During the course, the middle and high schoolers will learn about visual storytelling, character, structure, dialogue and screen formatting as they write their own short film.
  • The end of course film shoot will either be one of the scripts selected by the students or selected scenes from all the different scripts and will be acted and filmed by the students.
  • The students participating are those who have signed up for it through GTWT.
  • The film will be added to SWN’s website.

Would you like your teen(s) to be a participate in a program like this?

If there is demand, SWN’s goal is to roll out this plan to other teens in LA, in the near future.


Short Film Competition – Coming soon

  • Are you a middle or high schooler and already writing scripts?
  • Coming Fall 2015, is the first teen screenwriting competition held by SWN.
