More details:
Keto Shimizu was born in Princeton, NJ and spent much of her youth traveling the globe with a world music choir. A life-long fan of movies and comic books, she attended film school at Emerson College in Boston, then moved to Los Angeles in 2007 to pursue a career in the industry. Her first position following graduation was as a post-production assistant on Will Eisner’s The Spirit (helmed by Frank Miller), and then became a documentary editor for the film’s star, Gabriel Macht. The following year she worked in post-production on the films Tron: Legacy, and Clash of the Titans. Though employment in post-production kept a roof over her head, her heart was always in writing. She spent many nights and weekends writing screenplays, and in 2009 she submitted her work to NBC’s Writers on the Verge and was accepted into the program. WOTV catapulted Keto’s writing and helped her secure her first staff writing job on NBC’s 2010 superhero show The Cape. After that show was canceled, she moved on to SyFy’s Being Human where she spent two seasons. She then moved on to CW’s Arrow, and after three years writing for the DC comic adaptation she transferred to the spinoff Legends of Tomorrow where she is currently employed as a writer and Co-Executive Producer.
