12 Point Guide to Developing a Killer Pilot
Event Date: Saturday, August 17, 2013 || Speaker: Carole Kirschner || Check-in: 12:30 pm ||
Carole Kirschner, after having heard thousands of pitches and developed hundreds of pilot scripts during her time as a development executive, noticed over and over, year after year that the most successful pitches and shows had certain elements in common; elements that were created during the development process.
This hands-on workshop takes you through each of these elements (as well as common pitfalls to avoid). You’ll leave the workshop with a step-by-step roadmap for developing a successful television series.

Carole Kirschner has worked as a senior level television development executive for sixteen years. Her posts at CBS and as Vice President of Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment Television have given her the insider’s view on how to break into the entertainment industry, move up and sell projects. She currently heads the Writers Guild of America’s Showrunner Training Program, the CBS Diversity Writers Mentoring Program and the Humanitas New Voices Program.
During her tenure as an executive she heard over 3,000 pitches and hired and worked with hundreds of writers. Through her career consulting practice, Park on the Lot, she coaches writers on exactly what they need to do to get meetings, sell projects and get hired.
