I have read and understood the terms and conditions and failure to abide by these may result in my/our disqualification.

Incomplete or late entries and submissions that do not meet the full requirements will be disqualified.

My/our entry has not been sold, currently under option, in active negotiations for sale, or otherwise encumbered in any way. I/we hold clear legal rights to our submitted screenplay. I/we understand that failure to meet the full requirements will result in my/our immediate disqualification.

Under no circumstances will any substitutions, revisions, insertions and/ or corrections of my/our entry(ies) be allowed following submission to the competition.

No submission materials will be returned after the conclusion of the competition.

Collaborative works are eligible, but not by three or more writers. In the event of entries by two writers, both writers must sign the Submission/Release Form. One collaborator must be designated as the primary writer who, in the event of winning, will receive the prize.
 
I/we acknowledge that The Scriptwriters Network (SWN) has no obligation to provide me/us with the prizes listed in any way and I/we understand that SWN must work with the working Writers and/or Producers schedules and there is no guarantee to a meeting.

I/we understand that the SWN has no further obligation to me/us as set forth in this form and the competition rules, and that no other obligations exist now or in the future, or shall be deemed to exist.

I/we agree and understand that no implied or expressed confidential collaborative, business or fiduciary relationship exists between me/us and the SWN or the competition organizers, and no such relationship is established or implied by entering this competition.

In exchange for my/our agreeing to the rules signing this Submission/Release form and conditions and submitting my/our screenplay to you, I/we agree that the organizers will review and evaluate my/our screenplay and may freely share their evaluations with each other to ensure consistency of the judging process and to publicize the winning entries.

I/we understand that the organizers may have access to, may create, or have created literary materials and ideas which may be similar or identical to those found in my/our screenplay in theme, characters, plot, format or other respects. I/we agree that I/we will not be entitled to any compensation because of the use of any such material that may have been independently created by the SWN, its committee members or competition organizers.

If my/our submission is not original in concept or has any caveats or other encumbrances, I/we agree to hold harmless and free of liability the SWN, its officers, members and competition personnel in the event of any legal action arising from entering the competition, including attorney’s fees and expenses.

I/we agree that if a sale/option results from entering this competition, the SWN has my/our permission to publicize this fact at its discretion.

I/we understand that as an educational organization, SWN’s Television Outreach Program’s objective is to better assist me/us in achieving my/our goals of becoming a better writer by providing positive, constructive detailed feedback/evaluations.

I/we understand that as an educational organization, SWN’s Short Story Film Program is designed to assist me/us in strengthening my/our craft through constructive feedback, evaluations, and production-oriented development opportunities.

Nothing further is implied and/or guaranteed. I/we understand SWN will contact me/us should someone inquiry about my/our winning screenplay, should I/we win this program.

I/we understand that to the best of my/our knowledge all information included in my/our submission is true and correct and not misleading in any way.
