On Saturday, September 14, at a special members-only meeting held at the Beverly Garland Holiday Inn, the Scriptwriters Network was proud to announce the winners of the 2002 Carl Sautter Memorial Scriptwriting Competition for Film and Television: FEATURES Finalists Marc Balay - Just My Imagination Ted Rabinowitz - Plan X Karol Silverstein - Rachel's Season AND THE WINNERS ARE: Best Comedy Rita Barnett - Fairy Godmothers Best Drama Steve Warren - Ghosts of Bull Run HALF-HOUR TELEVISION Finalists Matthew Barnard - Will & Grace - "Candid Camera" Andrew Meyers - Frasier - "Pride of the Mariners" AND THE WINNERS ARE: First Place Andrew Meyers - Malcolm in the Middle - "Square Roots" Honorable Mention Mark Goffman - King of the Hill - "For the Love of Livestock" ONE-HOUR TELEVISION Finalists Shea E. Butler - The West Wing - "Letters" Kendell Shaffer - Gilmore Girls - "She's a Knockout" AND THE WINNERS ARE: First Place - Tie Felicia C. Ansty - Stargate SG-1 - "Cat's Paw" Dale Kutzera - Ed - "Your Inmost Self" The Feature and TV Competition Committees would like to thank all the readers and Industry Judges who participated in this year's Competition.
